In Myanmar During Covid-19 China Outbreak & Way Before the Coup d'etat

I love Myanmar. I miss this country. This time, what we can only do is treasure the memories and of course, pray for the Burmese ppl. I was blessed enough to bring my Dad and Mama Ai there before the Pandemic and the coup d'etat. Praying that everything will go back to normal again after we all learn the lessons out of all these tragic seasons.

Here was my visual diary of the trip.

Exploring Yangon Myanmar Before COVID-19 Breakout in China- with Dad and Mama Ai

This was last year (2019), Month of December, just before the COVID-19 breakout in China happened. It would have been a great problem for us if we were trapped in Myanmar or even Thailand because of the virus, plus, my dad has COPD history so I guess that will make things worse. Nonetheless, here's my compilation of it, hope you find something useful from this even little things. God bless you!

btw, i have nothing against skin color. in fact gwapong gwapo at gandang ganda ako sa mga Bengali, Indians, at iba pang south asians.

The Lord Annoints The Lips of this Child!

When we were in Myitkyina, Myanmar, I met this cute little angel. She is a (PK) pastor's kid. Herself and her mom went with us to Nankan, where the dad is pastoring a church. I will never forget this child for what the Lord has taught me through her annointed lips.

I remember, her mom teaches her to speak A-B-C and 1-2-3 up to 10. She is just one year old but she can already do these! One night she awkwardly approached me, then I tried asking her to do A-B-C..
and it goes like:

me: A
baby: A
me: B
baby:B
me: C
baby: D
me: E
baby: E
me: F
baby: eef! (followed by a loud contagious laughter!!!!)

and it went on and on with the same pattern, that when we come to the letter "F", she will burst into laughter! and it was outrageous and uplifting. The whole house was surrounded with an unexplainable joy because of such laughter. I was telling myself then, this is something like what they would call the "Holy laughter" Lord right? But then I wondered what it really meant.

Until about 18 days later, when I arrived in Chomthong and Chiang Mai, Thailand, the Lord gave me an impression about what the child's laughter was all about. I have been meditating on the Lord's Word in the book of Matthew since before I left the PH. Yesterday, I was in Matthew 18 and it came to me that this chapter is talking about forgiveness. I was thinking what is the significance of forgiveness to me this time when I don't think anyone has hurt me or hurting me at the moment. Then I was reminded of how the Lord started with my walk with Him. He reminded me of His great love and forgiveness for me and through that, He instructed me to forgive my dad for that great offense he did against me and mom and the whole family in 2006. (This needs 5 more pages for the whole story!) It was not easy but when I obeyed God, it was liberating. Such forgiveness gave way for me to have a new life with the Lord, and everything changed from then! I love my dad even more than before. And I can't imagine life if I did not obey God back to that time.

Going back tot he 'analysis', if Matthew 18 was about FORGIVENESS, then I looked back on the past chapters (Matthew 1 to 17), I have noted that everything was stressing on FAITH.
Today, in Matthew 19, the Holy Spirit encourages to FOLLOW Christ!

So,
Matthew 1 to 17 = stresses on FAITH
Matthew 18 = talks about FORGIVENESS
Matthew 19 = encourages us to FOLLOW Jesus

and all these are making great sense and significance in my life today. The Lord used the child's lips to give me a fresh vision! The Lord was speaking to me through this baby. What an annointed young minister!

Here is a video where the little angel's laughter continued from that house to the church. She was laughing loudly whenever the line "I'll do my best" goes. That same laughter was what I was talking about above. And that laughter went on and on and on.....

Now I am on my way to write a book out of this.
The book will focus on the Gospel by Matthew.
May the Lord's will be done! Glory to Him alone.

With Burmese Kids On Christmas Day

KOOSJ and Menschville asian missionaries spent their Christmas in a small village in Nankan, Sagaing, Myanmar. These kids were provided with small gifts and foods during Christmas. Their simple appreciation of things is such a blessing! It was a joy to be able to minister with these pure-hearted kids and youth. Let us continuously pray for them to strive harder in life and create dreams for themselves even though they are living in the middle of mountains.

Wait for 00:16, that "kita" made my day, i don't know why. Haha. Merry Christmas! ♡

Civil War Victims in Myitkyina, Myanmar

They are not the Rohingyans but they are also victims of civil wars in the North Eastern part of Myanmar. We provided school supplies and foods to them. KOOSJ and Menschville had an advanced Christmas celebration with these kids. Let us continuously pray for their future even though for some of them, hope for a better life seems impossible.

Life Orphanage, Yangon Myanmar

Life Orphanage in Yangon, Myanmar was founded by a local Christian pastor and his wife. They do not have any support from any organization. The pastor works as professor in some Bible schools in Yangon to provide the needs of these children.
During KOOSJ's and Menschville's visit in this orphanage, we have provided oil, rice, noodles, and other food supplies to cover their needs for the next three or four months. Let us continuously pray for this ministry and their kids' future.

Love Rohingya As You Love Marawi

You were born in a land and your ancestors call it your home. You grew up and slowly see the culture, you spoke the language, and identified with everything in the land. But at five years of age you just woke up one day and saw a great siege in your town that is up and men’s throat were slit with flesh blood flowing down the ground so profusely. You see other kids like you lying on the ground, some of them were even your playmates. Now they’re gone. And you don’t understand what’s happening. Your mom got raped in front of you. Your sisters were abused too. You’re terrified. You are clueless. You headed to a smoky area and trying to find a shanty that is still unstruck. But all you see is the bloody aftermath of the raging war. You see people running hither and yon. And now you just go with the flow, you ought to leave the Rakhine State and fly to Bangladesh with your bare feet and stomach…

ROHINGYANS TRYING TO ESCAPE FROM RAKHINE STATE MYANMAR (credits to 20minutes.fr)

This may be a common experience of some kids who are now homeless and even family-less as they seek refuge while the ethnical cleansing goes on in Myanmar.  It’s terrifying.

I have always heard of many civil wars because of people or self-centered groups wanting to occupy the southernmost part of the Philippines. My heart is burdened by my fellow Filipinos, especially the women and kids, who face the dilemma of staying in the war or sailing their way to Sabah to escape and then live there as illegal aliens and then hide for the rest of their lives from the Malaysian government. How come life seems unfair for them? Kids cannot go to school because they’re undocumented. They cannot go to the hospital when they get sick. They stay in the middle of nowhere and wanting to go back to their homes that do not exist anymore.

The Rohingyans situation has also made such great weight in my heart. Some may question my devotion to promoting missions to this part of Asia because they want me to help my own country first. However, I believe we are not called to be ethnocentric. I love my countrymen but I am also a world citizen, well we all are. Even when we got caught up in calamities in the past, many other countries came in to help. So who are we not to sympathize with perhaps the fastest growing refugee emergency in the world. Hence, I choose cosmopoliteness. Even though I am not that rich, that should not disqualify me to love.

These people are facing the nick of time everyday. Death is always knocking at their door. Either they get killed in the war or just fall dead from hunger and illnesses. All these are happening while we find comfort in the air-conditioned spaces in the mall, office, house, and all around while watching TV, browsing youtube from the laptop, watching the latest theatre pictures, scrolling up and down on iphone and android, or drinking a favorite Starbucks drink.

While Myanmar is still unable to address this issue at the moment, let’s show love to the victims. Let’s become a blessing to them. They may have a different perspective of who God is but we may show to them who Jesus is even without saying a word. Our actions are of more value. Our heart becomes their Bible.

Reach out to the Rohingya today. Over a million refugees are waiting to see your heart.
You may want to contact us, Menschville as we currently raise funds for this cause.

Yours truly will be in Myanmar by next month and hopefully in Bangladesh next year. Let us know if you want to take part in this project. Love Rohingya as you love Marawi.

So far, we have sent funds to cover a number of blankets and clothing for the mothers and children in Bangladesh refugee camp.

You can be part of these too, in Jesus Name.

2 Months Ago from the Land of the Golden Pagodas: BURMA

I was blessed to meet the kids of Burma. I went there for 3 weeks and I was able to meet some kids and youth (and of course adults too!) from Yangon to up north (Myitkyina, Lashio, Pyin Oo Lwin, Mandalay). I was bothered about the prevalent child labor in this nation. Though I know that the positive outcome of this is that kids grow more responsibly and ready for "life", I still believe that kids should have more time to "be kids". If God will allow me, I want to go back and share "such moments" with them.

I know I will go back to Myanmar again!
and if God wills it, I will minister to the Burmese too.
I just need to stay longer in Bicol for now because I believe
I have a specific assignment there after graduation.
I love the Bicolanos.
But if God calls me to Myanmar, I'll go.
Only God knows too, that some of the leaders who will be raised in Bicol
will come with me back to Myanmar :)
