It is God’s desire to have us with Him eternally. “He is patient with you,not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
“With the Lord a day is like a thousand Years and thousand year is like a day.. “ God is omniscient and omnipotent. He is eternal and a thousand years or so is just nothing to Him. He is in control and no matter how impossible a thing is, He is able to make it happen. Even the impossible salvation of an impossibly saved bad person. He can do things that a man can do in a thousand of years. God is eternal and we do not just have any idea what kind or how large the “measuring devices” He is using.
Peter encourages us all to think about the judgment day again. He introduces more wisdom about salvation. We are enlightened that we have to work out our faith and aim to be spotless, blameless, and at peace with Him.
